@pluto4847 I think the size of government isn’t so much what needs to be addressed, but the way the government is run. The president, for example, is accountable to no one but the public DURING an election. Which is only every four years, so they are locked in. Make the president accountable for his actions. I don’t think it is so much how much a government costs, as to where the money goes. It should be going back to society as a whole to improve the country…not wallstreet.

If you look at our 50 States, they come in all shapes and sizes. Why do we need all those states with squiggly lines as their borders? The Government is too big and that costs money. So if we had 5 mega States, and 5 Govenors for each mega State that should really cut down on bureacracy.

@pluto4847 Also, there should be a limit on how much any one entity can donate to a political campaign: one thousand dollars. This keeps big business OUT of politics. But I’ve never understood the “smaller government” thing. But maybe that’s because I’m Canadian, and I don’t see having a big government as a bad thing. Yes, bureaucracy is annoying…but not damaging. There are a lot of benefits to having a big government; especially when there are 4 parties in the house of commons.

@pluto4847 That is a rather interesting proposal. I’d suggest getting rid of the right to bear arms though. Gun ownership should be a privilege to responsible, law abiding citizens; not cracked out hillbillies and gangstas. Also, the tax system should be based on a sliding rule basis: the more you make, the more you pay in taxes, the less you make, the more in tax credits and benefits you receive. This helps distribute the wealth and creates a position where people less fortunate can live.

So I propose lets decrease the size of the United States.
