What vitamins can one take to make their hair stronger?
I don’t know if its stress from my classes or my medicine Wellbutrin that I’ve been taking for 6 months but it seems like my hair is thinning at the scalp and there is more hair in the drain everytime I shower. Maybe I have been noticing becasue I’mm looking for it, but it just seems like my hair is falling out or ia thinning at the scalp. The rest of my hair is stll thick so I don’t know why the rest of my hair would be think but the scalp seems thinner.
Besides seeing the doctor (which I have an appointment for already next month), what can I do in the meantime to help my hair? Are there any vitamins or nutrients that I can take to make my hair stronger??
If you can help me, Thank you very much.
BTW: I’m a 24 year old female.

Vitamin D: Essential for Prevention of Diseases
http://www.encognitive.com
Vitamin D: importance in the prevention of cancers, type 1 diabetes, heart disease, and osteoporosis.
The purpose of this review is to put into perspective the many health benefits of vitamin D and the role of vitamin D deficiency in increasing the risk of many common and serious diseases, including some common cancers, type 1 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and osteoporosis. Numerous epidemiologic studies suggest that exposure to sunlight, which enhances the production of vitamin D3 in the skin, is important in preventing many chronic diseases. Because very few foods naturally contain vitamin D, sunlight supplies most of our vitamin D requirement.
25-Hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] is the metabolite that should be measured in the blood to determine vitamin D status. Vitamin D deficiency is prevalent in infants who are solely breastfed and who do not receive vitamin D supplementation and in adults of all ages who have increased skin pigmentation or who always wear sun protection or limit their outdoor activities. Vitamin D deficiency is often misdiagnosed as fibromyalgia.
A new dietary source of vitamin D is orange juice fortified with vitamin D. Studies in both human and animal models add strength to the hypothesis that the unrecognized epidemic of vitamin D deficiency worldwide is a contributing factor of many chronic debilitating diseases. Greater awareness of the insidious consequences of vitamin D deficiency is needed. Annual measurement of serum 25(OH)D is a reasonable approach to monitoring for vitamin D deficiency. The recommended adequate intakes for vitamin D are inadequate, and, in the absence of exposure to sunlight, a minimum of 1000 IU vitamin D/d is required to maintain a healthy concentration of 25(OH)D in the blood.

What vitamins or shampoo will make my hair grow really fast?
I want to donate my hair to children with alopecia areata or cancer but my hair is not long enough. I really want to grow it out fast because i want to donate it by christmas. Is there any vitamins or shampoo that I can use that will make my hair grow really fast?
I really admire what you’re doing, I’ve always wanted to do that buy my hair is dyed. Honestly, I wouldn’t worry about a timeline or setting a date. By the time your hair is made into a wig and a child is able to receive it it may be after Christmas anyway. And I’m guessing you want to do it then so it can be a ‘gift’ for them. Or maybe you just don’t want long hair for the holidays, I don’t know.
Make sure to keep your hair healthy, stay away from too much heat like blow dryers and irons. Tight ponytails also cause the hair to break, so keep away from them. Buy some prenatal vitamins, they help grow hair and nails quickly and keep it healthy. Then get some Mane N Tail shampoo, this will help the hair grow quicker as well. Shampoo every other day and invest in a good conditioning treatment, you’ll want to apply this weekly. Massaging your scalp and gently pulling on the hair near the root is supposed to get the follicles working as well. Just don’t pull too hard, you don’t want to break the hair. Good luck!

What vitamins and supplements should a teenage take?
What vitamins can a 15 year old teenage girl take over the counter? I need real answers, not the quacks out there.
I’m sixteen and I take vitamin D and Calcium everyday, because vitamin D helps your body absorb the calcium. I also take a multivitamin from a health food store, but I don’t know the name. Centrum is a good one though!
What vitamins/foods are vital to maintaining the health of your hair and scalp?
I’m a male and have been growing out my hair for Locks of Love. In recent months, my scalp and hair hasn’t felt good at all. My head gets itchy and real sensitive, especially when I pull back my hair to tie it (which is always). I’ve noticed great amounts strands being combed out and my scalp showing through, too much so. Being a guy, I have to admit, I don’t take super care of my hair like the ladies do. I also have to admit, I don’t get enough of the healthiest foods and vitamins.
Can a healthy diet be the start of reclaiming healthy hair growth? And what should I get enough of and from what?
Tying your hair back will cause hair loss too. Use a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Hair will only grow about 6 inches a year at its best. That is just nature. A healthy diet helps too. Water is good too. Drink lots. It moisturizes.
What vitamins and minerals can promote blood to circulation much quicker?
I am constantly wondering what does it take for a person’s blood to flood much faster, such as by consuming the following: vitamins, minerals, stretching, or exercising. In addition, how can a person purify their heart vessels from accumulation of plaque?
You need an adequate supply of magnesium (which helps your metabolism and circulation, ginseng (circulation) and chamomile tea (helps repair capillaries so it improves blood flow.
What vitamins can replace frest fruits and vegetables?
I know there is not substitute for fresh fruit and veggies. However, as my life has become more hectic, I find it increasingly harder to fit them into my daily diet. What vitamins or supplements can I take to make up for this?
buy multi-vitamin bottles , they are over-the-counter vitamins and lots of brands to choose from. Generally, the more expensive brands are better ,because the vitamins get absorbed more in the guts.
And get " fibre capsules " to help, of course with your fibre consumption. They help….avoid constipation.
How well do different brands of vitamins work?
I really think that there is a difference in vitamin quality that varies from brand to brand. I recently bought some Hy-Vee brand, Target brand, Nature Made, and Origins vitamins. How well, in your experience, do these brands of vitamins stack up against others?
Thanks!
When selecting vitamins, potency and absorption are 2 main factors.
I would not recommend pill form of vitamins due to 2 reasons:
1. low absorption rate – Fillers and binders are used in order to form pills. Pills need to be broken down into stomach first before our body can absorb. Stomach is very high acidic, thus most of the nutrients are destroyed in our stomach before reaching small intestine for absorption. So with pill form, you are looking for absorption rate of about 10 to 40% depending on our body’s digestion ability and the ingredients to form the pills. Please keep in mind that human’s digestion ability is deceased by age.
2. Potency: Minerals in pill forms can trigger free radical generation during digestion and thus the antioxidants in the multivitamin pill (vitamin A, C, E, etc.) are used to fight off the free radicals it generates, thus cancel out its antioxidant effect for our body.
As a result, I would recommend Isotonix® vitamin line because it’s the only isotonic form of vitamin in the market
http://www.marketamerica.com/lcbeauty/brands-214/isotonix.htm
With Isotonix line, since it’s in isotonic form by adding certain amount of water to one capful of powder (it tastes great too!), vitamins won’t stay in stomach and will go to intestine within 5 minutes so you are looking for absorption rate of 90% and higher, higher absorption rate even compare to IV injection.
Not all supplements are made equally. Never look for price when selecting supplements, look for values and potency and absorption rate because our health is priceless!
